Dear Brian's parents,

As this is my last lesson with Brian for 2023, he was able to successfully complete all the curriculum planned for the class. He did very well overall.

I would continue to encourage Brian to use his English language knowledge whenever he gets the opportunity. This will help reinforce all the knowledge he has learned up to this time. Thank you.

For today's lesson, we covered Lesson 7 - Task 1 - U1L5 - In Class - Our Pet Friends.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: pace, fluency, punctuation intonation, articulation, enunciation, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fiction

5) Character, Setting, Events

6) Mind Map / Idea Web: 'My Pet Friend'
