Dear Evan's parents,

My goodness, Evan worked very hard today. He had a very strong English language lesson, in which we covered so many challenging literacy concepts. He was engaged throughout the lesson and he was motivated to do a very good job in his notebook, with his writing outcomes. Wow! You really did great today, Evan. I am very proud of you and I know your mom and dad are, too!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Evan's homework and focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Genre: Expository / Informational Text - facts = real = nonfiction

2) Text Features: Bold Print and Graphs

3) Tenses: Past (yesterday), Present (today), Future (tomorrow)

4) Question Comprehension strategies
