Chloe had another strong English language lesson today. She was happy, engaged, and motivated to succeed in her learning. Chloe is such a joy to teach.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Chloe's excellent homework submission as well as her anchor charts. We also covered Lesson 2 - Task 1 - U1L2 - In Class - Duck's Discovery.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, in-character voice, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Character Chart: wants or needs, feelings, actions, and traits

6) Synonyms: words and phrases
