Dear Brian's parents,

Once again, Brian was fully engaged throughout today's English language lesson. He actively participated in the learning activities and he was very thoughtful with his answers. His knowledge understanding and acquistion has significantly improved and his communication accuracy with said knowledge has significantly improved as well. Brian did very well today. Keep up the great work, Brian!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Brian's Anchor Chart binder and we also covered Lesson 5 - Task 1 - U5L4 - In Class - Hide and Seek as well as Lesson 5 Task 2 - U5L4 - In Class - Grammar.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: articulation & enunciation, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Text Feature: illustrations

6) Cause and Effect

7) Adjectives: describes a noun

8) Noun: a person, place, or thing
