Dear parents,
Your children all had another strong overall English language lesson today. Their proactive and independent use of their notebooks and their Anchor Chart binders are becoming much more effective and efficient. Their ability to find relevant language specific information, in a timely manner, has increased significantly since the first introduction of their Anchor Chart binders and the independent learning strategies, which I have implemented.
Also, a significant amount of praise and gratitude rightfully belongs to you, as their parents. Thank you very much for your active support of your child's learning needs and for your partnership, with me, in guiding your children to greater academic success, through these newly implemented learning strategies. Thank you.
For today's lesson, we reviewed your children's Anchor Chart binders and we covered Lesson 14- Task 1 - U4L4 - In Class - Your Turn.
We focused on the following literacy concepts and strategies:
1) Key/New vocabulary - comprehension and usage

3) Reading strategies: context clues, text features, and comprehension
4) Genre: Fantasy (Folktale)
5) Text Feature: title, special print, and illustration
