All your children had another strong and fun English language lesson today. They actively participated in all the lesson activities and they worked very hard to be successful in all the language challenges I presented to them, especially the dictionary skills activities. Very well done to all your children today!

For today's lesson, we reviewed your children's Anchor Chart binders as well as their online dictionary skills. We also covered Lesson 13 - Task 1 - U4L3 - In Class - LaRue.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - definitions and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Text Features: illustrations and special print

6) Author and Narrator Points of View

7) Idioms
