All your children had a very good English language lesson today. They worked hard, were fully engaged, and were in very good spirits. They seemed very excited for the Christmas break!

For today's lesson, we reviewed your children's Anchor Chart binders (please ensure that ALL Anchor Charts which you receive are printed out and placed into your child's Anchor Chart binder, using plastic page protectors - for longevity. We will be utilizing Anchor Charts for learning success, throughout ALL of our lessons. Thank you).

We also covered Lesson 6 - Task 1 - U3L6 - Your Turn.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Key/New vocabulary and Usage - Synonyms and Definitions

2) Reading strategies: Fluency, Decoding, and Comprehension

3) Point of View: Author and Narrator

4) Genre: Biography

5) Text Feature: Timelines

6) Synonyms and Antonyms

7) Phonics: Soft 'c' (sounds like /s/) and Soft 'g' (sounds like /j/)
