For today's lesson, we reviewed your children's Anchor Chart binders and we also covered Lesson 5 - Task 1 - U5L5 - In Class - Story - Ben Franklin.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: definitions and synonyms (dictionary.com)

3) Reading strategies: fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Tall Tale / Biography / Narrative Nonfiction

5) Greek Roots (Greek Affixes)
