Dear Michael's parents,
It was wonderful to see Michael again and to hear you all enjoyed a wonderful New Year. In today's class, although Michael did not pre-read the texts he did well to comprehend the main ideas about the passage and have a basic understanding of election processes in the United States. Great work!

(3) Reading strategies: decoding, context clues, text features, and comprehension
(4) Genre study: Informational Text (Expository; it gives us information)
(5) Studying the main idea: What is the story about?
(6) Summation of reading passage: brief (one sentence)
(7) Understanding Key Themes: What does the author want us to learn about? What are "Lawmakers"?
(8) Connections and comparisons: text-to-self and text-to-world connections
(9) Introducing United States election processes: primary elections, general elections, Election Day, sworn into office
HOMEWORK:
For homework if Michael has time, could he please complete Lesson 23 - U2L6 - Grammar Practice.
Also, please note that I have put a PDF copy of our class notes in the shared drive - for Michael's review when he has time. They will be updated after each class.
Warm wishes, and all the best for Michael and the entire family.
Kind regards,
Teacher Philip
