Dear Chloe's parents,

Congratulations to Chloe! She has graduated from the G2 Wonders curriculum to the G3 Wonders curriculum! Today's lesson was her first lesson at the G3 Wonders curriculum level and she did well. It was challenging for her at first but she'll do well at this level.

We also discussed English books she enjoys reading and she gave me two titles that she would like to read more of and I also recommended another. They are:

1) Spy Family

2) Hooky

3) Judy Blume (my recommendation)

For today's lesson, we discussed books at length. We also reviewed her anchor charts and we covered Lesson 1 - Task 1 - U1L1 - In Class - Growing and Learning.  

We covered the following literacy concepts and strategies:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key / New vocabulary: translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: pace, fluency, decoding, context clues, text features, in-character voice, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fantasy

5) Story Web (favorite stories)

6) Story Retell (Harry Potter)

7) Favorite Characters in a story
