Dear Michael's parents,

Michael had another very successful English language lesson today. He was very engaged in his learning and he was active throughout the lesson. especially when finding the English language knowledge that I challenged him to find (e.g.: his Anchor Chart binder, his notebook, etc.). Really fantastic work today, Michael!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's homework and his Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 7 - Task 1 - U5L5 - In Class - Discover Heroes.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Biography

5) Text Features: timeline and special print

6) Reflexive Pronouns

7) Idea Chart: 'Heroes'
