Dear Michael's parents,

Michael had another strong English language lesson today.

Thank you very much Michael's mother, for all your patience, diligence, and hard work, in helping Ms. Ling and I, to have Michael's homework submitted and for working to have today's lesson online. Thank you very much for your kindness.

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's homework as well as his Anchor Chart binder. We also covered Lesson 5 - Task 1 - U5L4 - In Class - Thirteen is a Crowd.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fiction and Informational Text

5) Text Feature: Table of Contents (author, title, subtitles, chapters, pages, and sometimes illustrator)

6) Idioms
