Michael had another strong English language lesson today. His reading is improving so much and his vocabulary knowledge is expanding and growing wonderfully. Keep up your great English language learning, Michael!

For today's lesson, we reviewed Michael's homework and his Anchor Chart binder. Michael is using his Anchor Chart binder very effectively; it's wonderful! We also covered Lesson 4 - Task 1 - U5L3 - In Class - Let's Cooperate.

We focused on the following literacy concepts:

1) Pre-reading strategies: prediction, identification, text-to-self and text-to-world connections

2) Key/New vocabulary - translations, definitions, and synonyms

3) Reading strategies: articulation & enunciation, context clues, fluency, decoding, text features, and comprehension

4) Genre: Fiction

5) Text Feature: key vocabulary - special print (color, highlighted, bold)

6) Idioms (English and Chinese)
