Dear Jason's mother,

For today's Lesson 3, we covered 'Subtraction without Renaming' (Task 1), and 'Addition with Renaming-1' (Task 2).

The lesson encompassed mental math and word problem strategies.

Jason's mental math skills are good overall. I will continue to refine and improve these skills during our lessons. 

Jason's word problem strategies require further attention and practice. Key vocabulary can be confusing for Jason in determining whether the question requires subtraction, addition, or both. He usually requires two attempts at the word problem to find clarity and accuracy in his answers. Further practice is recommended.
